ITI Wireman Eligibility:
One must have minimum qualification of 8th class pass to be eligible for wireman course.
To enrol in a course related to wireman must have high school diploma or which is equivalent to that is required. Some people learn by this job or can also attend some technical programs at some vocational schools or colleges.
Many people learn this wireman trade through some apprenticeship which is sponsored by contractor’s association or any trade union. If you wanted to complete course by apprenticeships it takes 4 to 5 years with 144 hours of classes and 2,000 practical work hours manually.
On completion of course they are called as journeyman electrician. They must qualify in a test to prove their skills and knowledge that includes familiarity with state codes and National Electrical code. Most of the states only consider the electrician who are officially licensed and recognised by government.
On an average a wireman can earn up to 3 lakhs this is the maximum salary a wireman can earn at the beginning of his job. Government position are paid most when compared to private job holders. The wireman who work in government sector can earn up to 4 lakhs. After that people who work in manufacturing firms and as electrical contractors earn up to 3.5 lakhs. Entry level wireman are paid up to 2.1 lakhs and the senior most wireman is paid up to 6 lakhs.
ITI Wireman Job Scope:
In a recent research there is a 9 percent increase in jobs for wireman from the past years. This growth is almost same and as expected job growth for all the occupations in the world. The growth of jobs will be occurred by population increase which is alternative energy installations like solar panels and wind turbines.
Not only these jobs there are also opportunities in various areas like elevator installation, fire control systems and maintenance.
Syllabus of Wireman in ITI:
If you are very much interested in wiring for homes, buildings, companies and other places where they are required, replacing and repairing the electrical components, installing various lightning fixtures, checking current value all these you wanted to do then you need to join ITI wireman course.
As we know that to be eligible for wireman course one must requires minimum qualification of 8th class pass. The duration of the wireman course is about 2 years which is 4 semesters of duration.
The ITI wireman course fees for wireman course is 1500 to 3000 INR is charged depending on the institution which comes under government sector and the private sector institutions can charge up to 5000 to 25000 INR depending on the institution.
To become a wireman the required certifications are National council vocational training and State council vocational training. You can choose any one of the training courses but national council vocational training course is mostly recommended as it comes with a lot of benefits.
Vocational training courses is of duration 1 year. The subjects that includes in training are Trade theory, Trade practical, Workshop calculation and science, Engineering drawing, and employability skills.
Wireman must be able to work in all the weather conditions irrespective of time. Their services can be needed at any time such as due to heavy rains there may be power cuts in some areas you must be able to reach the location on time and provide your services as required.
He is capable of repairing and maintaining electrical components, installing the wiring systems, existing wiring system and they should have knowledge about the electrical engineering and accessories.
On completion of 2 years of wireman course in ITI you can go for any internship offered by any company or industry like TGNPDCL, OGNC, WBSETCL, BPCL, ECIL, NPCIL. If you are willing to join in any of this companies you can also get stipend of 5000 to 10000 INR.
